White, Portia

Portia May White(1911-1968), Canadian singer(contralto), studied at the Halifax Conservatory of Music, made her debut in Toronto in 1941, and 1944 she made her international debut in New York and later toured the world. She was asked to perform for Queen Elizabeth II, at the opening of the Confederation Centre of the Arts In Charlottetown in 1964.
